Women's Basketball Inks Lauren Young Young becomes sixth player to sign with Rams for the 2007-08 season.

Colorado State Head Women's Basketball Coach Jen Warden announced today that Lauren Young has signed a National Letter of Intent on the first day of the spring signing period. Young, a standout player from Edina High School in Edina, Minn., will join the Rams for the 2007-08 season. Young becomes the sixth player to sign with the Rams for the upcoming season, joining Elle Queen (6-0, F, Excelsior, Minn./Minnetonka HS), Whitney Wood (6-2, F, Ladera Ranch, Calif./Santa Margarita HS), Danielle Albus (5-9, G, Aumsville, Ore./Cascade HS), Bonnie Barbee (5-8, G, Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain HS) and Zoi Simmons (5-6, Guard, Fontana, Calif./ IMG Academy (Fla.)) who signed letters of intent during the fall signing period. Lauren Young (6-2, Power Forward, Edina, MN/Edina H.S.) Young, a 6-2 power forward, amassed 1,052 points in her high school career for Edina, shooting at a 41 percent clip from the field, while dishing out 69 assists, 161 steals and 578 rebounds (230 offensive) in 90 career games. As a senior, she averaged 16.7 points and 8.9 rebounds per contest en route to her second consecutive All-Classic Lake Conference selection. She was also selected to the all-state team and was a candidate for Ms. Minnesota Basketball. Young earned all-tournament honors by leading Edina to a third place finish in the state tournament after posting career-highs of 32 points and 14 rebounds in the third place game against Champlin Park. She was also selected to the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association All Star Team and was recently chose as a Minnesota Timberwolves Top-Five Player and recognized at halftime of a game.
