COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference race continues to be tight, as two of the four games this week were decided by four points or less. Wyoming defeated Utah at home, 56-55, and BYU beat TCU on its home court, 69-65.

BYU's win brings its record to 16-5, 7-1, and ties for first place with Utah (14-7, 7-1). Wyoming's (15-5, 6-2) victory secures the team a third-place spot heading into this weekend, while TCU slips into fourth place with a 15-7, 5-3 record.

In other MWC action, New Mexico (14-7, 4-4) cruised by San Diego State (9-10, 2-6), 76-46, while UNLV (10-10, 4-4) defended its home court vs. Colorado State (6-14, 1-7), 57-46.

This weekend's MWC schedule:

Saturday, Feb. 3
Utah at San Diego State, 2 p.m.
TCU at UNLV, 7 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 4
Wyoming at New Mexico, 1 p.m.
Air Force at Colorado State, 2 p.m.
