Mountain West Announces Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 21, 2013 Hopkins is the only player in MW history to record multiple triple-doubles in single season.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State guard Chelsea Hopkins earned Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played from Jan. 14-20, 2013. It is the second honor of the season for Hopkins and the fourth of her MW career. Hopkins, a senior from Las Vegas, Nev., led San Diego State to a 2-0 record last week with a 74-60 road victory over UNLV and a 66-43 home win against Wyoming. She recorded her second triple-double of the season at UNLV with a career-high tying 22 points to go with game highs of 11 rebounds and 10 assists. She established a new career record of 10 field goals and tied her career mark of five steals. The triple-double is just the sixth in MW history and Hopkins is the only MW player to record multiple triple-doubles in a single season. Against Wyoming, Hopkins scored 14 points to go with game highs of eight rebounds and eight assists. For the week, Hopkins was 15-of-25 (.600) from the floor and hit 3-of-4 (.750) from the free throw line. She averaged 18.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 9.0 assists and 3.5 steals over the two games.
