COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming senior Hanna Zavecz has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Zavecz averaged 24 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and two blocks last week against San Diego State and Air Force. She was 19-for-24 (.792) from the field, 4-for-6 (.667) from beyond the arc and 6-for-9 (.667) from the free throw line.

Against Air Force, Zavecz scored the first 11 straight points for the Cowgirls, including two three-point field goals, and 16 of the first 17 points in the game to give them a 17-8 lead. She went 6-for-7 (.857) from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 (1.00) from beyond the arc to finish with 16 points in the first half of the game. The Melbourne, Australia, native, then scored 11 points in the second half on her way to a season-high 27 points in the victory. For the game, she shot a career-high 11-for-13 (.846) from the field and a season-high 4-for-5 (.800) from beyond the arc. She also added three assists, two rebounds, one block and one steal.

Against San Diego State, Zavecz scored the Cowgirls' final 10 of 16 points to close out the game, including a three-point play with 1:09 left on the clock to seal the 65-49 win against the Aztecs. Zavecz scored a team-leading 21 points against SDSU while adding seven rebounds, four steals, three blocks and two assists in the win. She was 8-for-11 (.727) from the field and 5-for-7 (.714) from the free-throw line.

This marks Zavecz's second weekly honor. She currently ranks fourth in the league in scoring (15.4 ppg), fourth for assists (3.94), and 15th for rebounding (5.5).
