Mountain West Conference Names Women's Basketball Player of the Week New Mexico's Dionne Marsh earns the honor
Jan. 14, 2008 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - New Mexico senior Dionne Marsh has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Marsh led New Mexico to a 1-1 start in league play after scoring a season-high 24 points against No. 21/22 Wyoming, and chipping in 21 points at San Diego State. The guard averaged 22.5 points in two games last week and pulled down 13 rebounds. Against Wyoming, Marsh, a Flower Mound, Texas, native, played 36 minutes, recorded seven rebounds and was a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe, while scoring 24 points. She had a career-high five blocks against San Diego State in 40 minutes of action. She also had six rebounds, a steal and made seven of her eight free throws against the Aztecs. Last week, Marsh was 15-of-16 from the free-throw line and 15-of-31 from the field. Her 14.7 points per game ranks fifth in the Conference and she is tied for 12th for rebounds with 6.1 per game. This marks her second weekly honor of the season.
