The first week of conference play concluded tonight, highlighted by the Wyoming vs. TCU match-up being televised live on The Mtn. BYU, UNLV, Utah and Wyoming all finished the week with perfect records.

No. 22/21 Wyoming 62, New Mexico 45
Laramie, Wyo. Sat., Jan. 12, 2008
  • Wyoming's Jodi Bolerjack scored six points vs. TCU to give her 1,003 for her career. She is the eighth active MWC player to reach the 1,000 point mark.
  • With the victory, Wyoming is now 7-0 at home this season.
  • The Cowgirls finished with 21 assists on 24 field goals and 11 blocked shots, the second-best mark in the MWC this season.
  • TCU's 45 points was its lowest point total since an 81-45 home loss to New Mexico on Feb. 26, 1998.

UNLV 58, Air Force 48
Las Vegas, Nev. Sat., Jan. 12, 2008
  • UNLV shot 63.6 percent from field in the first half, and 48 percent overall, the Rebels second-best mark of the season.
  • The Rebels victory marked the first time in school history they won a game without a single player reaching double figures.
  • The Rebels had a season-high eight blocks vs. Air Force, including three players (Latoya Hunt, Shamela Hampton, Karla Gergelova) with two apiece.
  • Air Force scored 18 points in the first half, its lowest point total in a half this season.
  • Air Force's Alicia Steele, who leads the team in points and rebounds, did not make the trip to UNLV. Senior Pam Findlay took the lead, scoring a team-high 11 points.

BYU 60, Colorado State 39

  • BYU had three players record new career highs vs. CSU. Freshman Coriann Wood set career highs with 13 points and three 3-pointers. Senior Lauren Riley-Varley tied her career best with 14 rebounds, while freshman Mindy Nielson dished out a personal-best five assists.
  • BYU held Colorado State to an opponent season-low 39 points.
  • The Rams outrebounded the Cougars, 46-42, led by career highs of seven rebounds apiece from Amaka Uzomah and Emily Neal.

New Mexico 60, San Diego State 47
San Diego, Calif. Sat., Jan. 12, 2008
  • New Mexico's win over SDSU marked its first road win of the season.
  • UNM's Kelsey Ansley had a career night, tying her career high with eight points and setting new marks with five rebounds, two 3-point field goals and three steals.
  • New Mexico's Dionne Marsh scored a game-high 21 points, marking the second consecutive game of scoring 20+ points.
  • San Diego State was held to a season-low 47 points, including 0-for-11 from beyond the arc.
  • Sophomore Jene Morris scored in double-figures (17 points) for the second consecutive game, while adding six rebounds and three steals.
