COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Mountain West women's basketball newcomers Fresno State and Nevada won their league openers on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs beat San Diego State on the road, 80-72, while the Wolf Pack downed Air Force at home, 67-54. Boise State edged out Wyoming, 70-68, to start the evening's action and UNLV ended the night with a 68-57 victory over New Mexico.

Jan. 9, 2013 - Lauren Lenhardt's 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining propelled Boise State to a 70-68 victory in a thriller over the Wyoming Cowgirls in the Mountain West opener for both teams Wednesday night in Taco Bell Arena at Boise. Jan. 9, 2013 - Thanks to 21 points from senior guard Kelli Thompson and a swarming defense that forced 27 turnovers, UNLV won its Mountain West season opener on Wednesday night 68-57 over New Mexico in women's college basketball action at the Cox Pavilion. The Lady Rebels stopped a three-game losing streak and improved to 5-10 with the victory, their first of the year over a team with a winning record. New Mexico dropped to 8-6, 0-1 in league play.
