Quick Hits ... Air Force senior Alicia Leipprandt became the 13th Falcon to reach the 1,000-career point mark on Jan. 2 with 19 points against Utah Valley. In the same game, senior Dymond James moved into 10th all-time at AFA in career rebounds with 528 ... Boise State will play just one game in opening week, hosting 11-2 Wyoming on Wednesday night. In the nine previous meetings, neither team has won on the other's home floor. The game will be live streamed on BroncoSports.com ... Colorado State begins MW play on Sunday, Jan. 13, against SDSU on CBSSN. Three Rams recorded career-highs on Jan. 4 against South Dakota Mines, led by junior Sam Martin's 30 points. Sophomore Kara Spotton posted a career-high 19 points and classmate LaDeyah Forte dished out a career-high 11 assists ... New Mexico's record of 8-5 is the team's best non-conference mark since the 2008-09 season (11-2) ... San Diego State begins MW play at home for the third straight season. The Aztecs have averaged 79.0 points per game in their last five games, compared to 69.5 ppg in their first eight of the season ... UNLV will be live streaming its women's MW home basketball games this season. The first one up is Wednesday's MW opener against New Mexico on UNLVRebels.com ... Wyoming received a vote in the Associated Press Top 25 poll this week. Senior Chaundra Sewell is one of 36 players in Division I averaging a double-double this season. Sewell's is 14.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
Three MW Teams rank in Top 50 in Attendance ... The NCAA released the first national attendance rankings of the season on Jan. 7. New Mexico (8-5) is back among the top 10 women's basketball programs in home court advantage, currently sitting at No. 8 with a 6,323 average through the first nine home games of the season. Wyoming (11-2) ranks 27th with a home attendance average of 3,431, while MW newcomer Fresno State (8-5) comes in at 47th with a 2,352 average. Tennessee leads the nation with a home attendance average of 11,547.
