USAFA, Colo. - Despite career performances from seniors Brooke Cultra (Onarga, Ill.) and Kim Kreke (Salem, Ill.), the Air Force women's basketball team was unable to get past visiting Milwaukee, falling 57-48 Saturday afternoon at Clune Arena. The Falcons fall to 1-2 on the season, while the Panthers improve to 1-2.

Cultra pitched in more than half of Air Force's points, scoring a career-high 25 against Milwaukee, and was just one rebound short of her first career double-double. Meanwhile, Kreke set a new Division I single-game rebound record with 19 boards, while also pitching in nine points.

Milwaukee took the advantage from the opening tip, and never trailed, taking advantage of Air Force's 23 turnovers. Although the Panthers led by as many as 11 points in the opening half, the Falcons were able to cut the deficit to four at intermission. A layup by Cultra brought Air Force within two points with just under 12 minutes to play, but it was as close as the Falcons would get the rest of the way.

Air Force was still within striking distance in the closing minutes, but the Panthers scored their final five points from the charity stripe on their way to the nine-point victory.

The Falcons are back in action this week, Nov. 26, for their first road game of the season, when it travels to Edinburg, Texas, to face Texas-Pan American.
