TCU Struggles Against No. 5 LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -Sylvia Fowles had 16 points and six rebounds to lead No. 5 LSU over TCU 73-54 in the second round of the Preseason WNIT on Sunday.

Fowles was plagued by foul trouble in the first half, committing two early fouls and playing just six minutes. But the center asserted herself in the second half and scored 11 points on 4-of-4 shooting.

TCU (1-1) led by as many as nine points in the first half, but LSU (2-0) used scoring runs of 8-0 and 13-0 to build a 14-point lead with 3:27 left in the half. But the Lady Frogs scored the last seven points of the half to cut the gap to 35-28 at halftime.

Guard Adrianne Ross led TCU in scoring with 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting.
