LAS VEGAS (AP) - Amy Beggin and Angela Hartill each scored 13 points to lead New Mexico to a 59-41 win over BYU in the Mountain West Conference quarterfinal round Wednesday afternoon.

Beggin was 3-of-4 from 3-point range, while Hartill had five rebounds and four assists.

Also for No. 4 seeded New Mexico (18-12), Brani Kimble had 12 points. New Mexico, which is seeking its fifth tournament title in six years, will now play in the quarterfinal round against either top-seeded and nationally ranked Utah or No. 9 Colorado State Friday afternoon.

Mallary Carling led the Cougars (13-16) with 14 points and five rebounds. The Cougars from the field were 16-of-48 for 33 percent, while the Lobos were 21-of-49 (43 percent). BYU turned the ball over 23 times, to New Mexico's 12.

The Lobos, who were out-rebounded 35-29, are now 15-4 in the tournament's history.

The Lobos jumped to a 21-8 lead and eventually led 33-17 at intermission. New Mexico's lead in the second half never got below 13 points and went as high as 22 near game's end.
