Recap |  Stats |  Quotes |  Photo Gallery

  • In the first half, Wyoming did not make a basket for the first 8:06 of play, during that time the Cowgirls shot 0-10 from the floor, but were 5-6 from the free throw line during the span.
  • With SDSU leading 17-14 at the end of the first half, it marks the lowest combined score for a half in a MWC tournament game.
  • SDSU led at the half in a MWC tournament game for only the second time in championship history.
  • Wyoming's 14 first-half points are the fewest by an Aztec opponent in the first half of a game this season.
  • SDSU's Desiree Johnson tied her 2006-07 season-high with four blocks in the first half. She ended the game with five. Her career best is six vs. Colorado State last season.
  • Wyoming tied the game 19-19 at 17:28 on a Hanna Zavecz free throw, then after a 3:46 scoring drought by both teams a Jodi Bolerjack jumper gave the Cowgirls a 21-19 lead, a lead they would never give up.
  • Wyoming started the second half with a 12-2 run in the first 7:33, during that span San Diego State shot just 1-9 from the floor.
  • The Cowgirls pulled out to a 37-28 lead at the 6:05 mark, but the Aztecs pulled within three with 3:23 left to play. SDSU would not come any closer for the remainder of the game.
  • With the loss, the Aztecs have yet to win a game in the MWC tournament and have moved to 0-8 all-time.
  • Wyoming's win is the first since the 2003-04 MWC tournament when the Cowgirls defeated Colorado State in the first round.
  • Wyoming will move on to play the winner of the #6 UNLV/#3 New Mexico game at 12 p.m. Friday Mar. 9.
