No. 4 BYU Defeats No. 3 UNLV 4-3 For Third Place at Conference Championships
No. 1 Singles match goes to tiebreaker in the third set.

Albuquerque, N.M. -- In a down to the wire match, BYU defeated UNLV by the score of 4-3 to capture third place at the inaugural Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Championships today on the courts of the Lobo Tennis Club.
BYU captured the doubles point - taking the No. 1 and No. 3 matches, both in close matches that could have gone either way. The No. 3 doubles went to a tie-breaker where BYU's duo of David White and Jeff Olsen took the match 9-8 (5).
Both schools battled at each position. UNLV took the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 matches The match was decided at the No. 1 singles where BYU's Damien Ward defeated UNLV's Vladimier Pavicevic by the scores of 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (9).
The championship match is slated for 2 p.m. pitting No. 1 seeded San Diego State against No. 2 seeded and host New Mexico.
