LAS VEGAS - Eight UNLV men's and women's tennis players earned spots on the 2001 Mountain West Conference academic teams, which were released by the league Tuesday.

Four Rebels were part of the 19-player men's academic all-league squad. Leading the way was three-time honoree and senior finance major Danny Erez. Senior psychology major Gregor Skorin made his first appearance and was joined by junior Thomas Schneiter (hotel administration) and sophomore Leslie Eisinga (economics).

Four Lady Rebels were part of the 39-player women's academic All-MWC team. Senior Britta Gabl, who graduated with a degree in business, was joined by junior Marianne Bakken (finance), sophomore Amy Hadziosmanovic (marketing) and freshman Agnieszka Abram, who has not declared a major.

To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the school, maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and be a starter or significant contributor.
