CSU Tennis, Kirchem Regionally Ranked Rams' record of 15-9 this season sets school record for wins.
June 6, 2005 Fort Collins, Colo. - The Colorado State University women's tennis team was ranked 15th and sophomore Emily Kirchem was listed 24th in the Central Region rankings released June 3 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Rams' record of 15-9 this season set a school record for wins and win/loss percentage while CSU finished fifth in the conference tournament. This marks Kirchem's second regional ranking in as many years. She is the only Ram to be ranked twice in her career. Kirchem was also named to the all-Mountain West team in the last two seasons earning a 42-21 singles record during that time. "We had dropped out of the regional rankings last year so it was good to get back in," commented head coach Jon Messick. "Emily stepped her game up to a higher level this year and is on pace to break several Ram all-time records." Colorado State loses just two seniors from its 2004-05 squad and will welcome back five returners to the 2005-06 roster.
