SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior Felix Hardt has been selected to the first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII Men's At-Large Team. Hardt, an international business major, plays number one singles and number one doubles for the nationally-ranked men's tennis team, and owns a 3.87 grade point average.

Hardt, who earned second-team all-district honors last season, will now be placed on the national ballot for consideration for Academic All-America honors, which will be released on June 15.

Hardt was one of just 10 student-athletes to earn first-team honors in the district, which encompasses all Division I schools in the states of Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and the province of British Columbia. Additionally, student-athletes from 12 men's sports are eligible for the team - fencing, golf, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

He was one of just two tennis players selected, one of three Mountain West Conference athletes to earn first-team honors and San Diego State joins California and UCLA as the only state schools to place a student-athlete on the first team.

Hardt, currently ranked 40th nationally in singles, ended his senior campaign with a 19-11 overall record, including a 13-6 mark in dual competition this spring. He earned his third all-conference singles honor this past season after playing the number one position for the Aztecs in 19 of 20 matches this season and advanced to the NCAA Singles Championship in Tulsa, Okla. A native of Allensbach, Germany, Hardt owns 12 victories over players currently ranked in the ITA singles poll.

In doubles, Hardt and teammate Ryan Redondo are ranked 52nd in the nation by the ITA. The Aztec duo was 10-5 this season and posted four wins over nationally-ranked opponents. Hardt was a part of all 11 victories at number one doubles for SDSU this season.
