Senior Ryan Stotland was one of two Lobos to earn a spot on the 2005 ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA District VI all-academic at-large team. Only two other schools, Mississippi State and Texas Tech, had multiple honorees.

The 10 man team, voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors Association, will go on to represent the district on the national ballot. Athletes had to possess at least a 3.20 grade point average and be a starter or front line reserve to be eligible for the squad.

District VI encompasses universities from the states of Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

Also named to the team from New Mexico was skier Lars Loeseth. Mississippi State players honored were tennis players Florent Girod and Jose-Carlos Pinto while Texas Tech athletes selected were tennis standouts Michael Innerebner and Bojan Szumanski.
