COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The University of Utah men's tennis season came to a close as David Mercier and Nik Yip lost at the NCAA Championship doubles tournament on Thur., May 23, on the campus of Texas A & M University. The senior doubles team ended their careers on a high note, advancing to the NCAA doubles championships as the 23rd ranked doubles team nationally. They played the 11th ranked Andrew Colombo/Mark Kovacs team from Auburn University in the first round of the doubles championships. Auburn's Colombo/Kovacs defeated Mercier/Yip (4-6, 6-1, 7-6) after a hard fought match.
