Senior Eric Pittman is one of five Air Force Academy cadet-athletes selected to the Verizon Academic All-District VII teams this week as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Pittman joins senior John Dayton (swimming) and junior Mike Polidor (ice hockey) on the first- team. Their names will now appear on the national ballot for Academic All-American honors. The three first-team selections is the most of any school in the district.

Senior Elia Burrill (fencing), the only woman named from the Academy, and sophomore Lucas Lefever (wrestling) were selected to the second-team.

Pittman, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, has a 3.59 GPA and is majoring in biology. Dayton, from Hendersonville, Nev., has a 3.79 grade point average and is majoring in aerospace engineering. Polidor is majoring in astronautical engineering and has a 3.87 GPA. He is a native of Imperial, Pa. Lefever, a native of La Crosse, Wis., majors in civil engineering with a 3.79 GPA. A Truckee, Calif., native, Burrill has a 3.74 GPA and is a business management major.

District VII includes all schools within the states of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. The Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan are also represented.
