LAS VEGAS - UNLV sophomore Elliot Wronski has been named the Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the third time this season, the league announced.

Playing at the No. 1 spot in the singles and doubles lineups, Wronski helped the Rebels to their first-ever Mountain West Conference Tournament title last week in Colorado Springs, Colo. In the quarterfinals vs. Utah, he helped UNLV post a 4-0 shutout of the Utes by clinching the doubles point while teaming with Brett Hunter to defeat Utah's 52nd-ranked duo of Miron Mann and Zach Ganger 8-5, then going on to hand the 47th-ranked Ganger a 6-3, 6-4 loss in singles action.

In the championship vs. BYU, the native of Cheltenham, England, paired with Hunter again for the Rebels' lone doubles win over James Ludlow and Dominik Kaufhold before taking a 7-6, 6-3 singles decision from the 109th-ranked Ludlow. Currently ranked 60th in the nation, Wronski stands 19-11 overall this season.

Having already won the award on Feb. 22 and March 16, Wronski, a first teal All-MWC selection, becomes on the second Rebel in history to be cited by his league three times in one season, joining Thomas Schneiter in 2002.

BYU's Lauren Jones was named the final women's player of the week for 2007.
