Three Air Force Academy men's tennis players were named to the 2001 all-Mountain West Conference team at the MWC Men's Tennis Championships last wweekend in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sophomore Eric Pittman was one of 12 players honored for singles play, while juniors Chris and Greg Zielinski earned one of the six doubles selections.

Pittman, who played the entire 2000-01 season at No. 1 singles for Air Force, posted his second consecutive 20-win campaign with a 21-13 overall singles record, and a 15-11 mark in dual matches. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native closed the season on a high note, winning seven of his final 10 matches, including a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory over then 61st-ranked Nenad Zivkovic of UNLV. That victory sealed Air Force's 4-2 upset win over the Rebels, who entered the match ranked No. 36 in the nation. Both of Pittman's matches at the MWC Championships were halted with Pittman leading late in the second set.

The Zielinskis, twins from Ocean City, Md., produced an outstanding 18-8 overall doubles record, including a 14-8 mark at the No. 1 position. They started the season with nine consecutive victories and won 15 of their first 16 matches.

Air Force, currently ranked No. 75 in the nation, finished its season with a 16-12 overall record.
