2011 Mountain West Tennis Championships Begin Wed., April 27 in Fort Collins, Colo.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -

Colorado State will host the 2011 Mountain West Men's and Women's Tennis Championships April 27-30, 2011 at University Tennis Complex on the campus of Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo. This will mark second time in Conference history that the MW Tennis Championships will be conducted in Fort Collins. The league’s second women's tennis championship was held at CSU in 2001.

TCU, the defending Mountain West tournament champion, New Mexico and San Diego State are tied for the Conference lead with three titles each on the men's side. The Horned Frogs claimed the championship in 2006, 2008 and 2010, while the Lobos earned the tournament title in 2000, 2004 and 2009. The Aztecs were crowned champions in 2002, 2003 and 2005.

On the women's side, BYU has claimed a Conference-leading four tournament titles (2001, 2004-05, 2007). The defending Mountain West tournament champion Horned Frogs have won three tournament titles (2006, 2009, 2010), while UNLV has also been crowned MW tournament champion on three occasions (2000, 2002, 2008).

The winners of the Men's and Women's Mountain West Championships receive the Conference's automatic bids to their respective NCAA Tournament.
