COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah's Zach Ganger and Emily Kwok have been named the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively. This marks the third career honor for Ganger and the first for Kwok.

Ganger, a senior from Jacksonville, Fla., has won eight straight matches heading into the 2008 MWC Men's Tennis Championship. At the No. 1 slot, he tabbed two victories last weekend over ranked conference opponents in a 7-5, 7-6 (2) defeat of UNLV's Elliot Wronski (No. 98) and a 6-4, 6-1 win over TCU's Cosmin Cotet (No. 36). In doubles play, Ganger and partner Miron Mann have teamed up at the top position since dual matches started in January to compile a 16-4 record. The duo went undefeated in league matches and also have won their last eight on the doubles court.

Kwok, who hails from Richmond, B.C., defeated No. 112 Kristina Doerr last week at the No. 2 position to aide the Utes in a 6-1 victory over BYU. The team win clinched Utah as the No. 4 seed in this week's conference tournament. Kwok has tallied an overall singles record of 15-11 this season and a 17-4 doubles record with Elizabeth Ferris. Overall, the senior went 21-11 in doubles play.
