COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -¬ San Diego State's Markus Dickhardt and Lauren Jones of BYU have been selected the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.

Dickhardt, a sophomore from Marburg, Germany, plays No. 2 singles and No. 3 doubles for the Aztecs. He helped San Diego State to three wins last week, including two conference wins, as the Aztecs clinched the MWC regular-season title. He won all three of his singles matches without dropping a set, as well as all three of his doubles matches. Dickhardt defeated Ryan Stotland of New Mexico and Tyler McClung of Air Force to help the Aztecs clinch the championship, while he teamed with Eugenio Romero to win doubles matches against Denver, New Mexico and Air Force. He is now ranked No. 125 nationally, while San Diego State is No. 40 in the team rankings.

Jones, a sophomore from Mission Viejo, Calif., helped the Cougars win the MWC regular-season title with a perfect 7-0 record after they defeated then-No. 45 San Diego State and then-No. 40 UNLV last week. At No. 1 singles, Jones won both of her matches, as well as both of her No. 2 doubles matches with partner Dolly Chang. In her best win of the year, Jones defeated then-No. 28 Elena Gantcheva of UNLV, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (12-10), as the Cougars beat the Lady Rebels, 6-1. BYU moved up to No. 22 in the national rankings this week, while Jones is ranked individually for the first time this season at No. 103.
