COLORADO STATE, Colo. -- Utah's Zach Ganger was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while BYU's Anastasia Surkova and Utah's Elizabeth Ferris shared MWC Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors.

Ganger, currently ranked No. 57 in the nation, posted a 4-0 record last week as Utah split its conference outings with a narrow 4-3 loss to No. 46 San Diego State and a 7-0 sweep of Air Force.

The Jacksonville, Fla., native earned a 7-5, 6-3 upset over No. 30 Markus Dickhardt at No. 1 singles, snapping the Aztec senior's 15-match win streak, before collecting a 6-4, 6-2 win over Air Force's Robby Alexander. At No. 1 doubles, Ganger paired with junior Miron Mann to upset SDSU's No. 14 duo of Dickhardt and Christian Groh (8-4) and defeat AFA's Alexander and Ryan White (8-0).

Ganger is currently 13-6 in singles dual match play this season while sporting a 14-4 doubles record with Mann at the No. 1 position in both lineups.

Surkova, from Moscow, Russia, registered a 5-1 overall mark last week to lead No. 35 BYU to a 3-0 record with wins over No. 43 Boise State (5-2), No. 69 New Mexico (6-1) and No. 32 TCU (4-3).

The 118th-ranked junior claimed staight-set victories at the No. 1 singles spot over Polina Kokoulina (6-1, 6-0) from BSU, No. 119 Ola Abou-Zekry from New Mexico (6-2, 6-2) and No. 58 Anna Sydorska from TCU (6-1, 6-3). At No. 1 doubles, the 49th-ranked duo of Surkova and junior Jennifer Miccoli posted a 2-1 record, defeating BSU's Laura Baum and Jana Mackova (8-3) and New Mexico's Sandra Zmak and Lucy Scott (8-5) before dropping an 8-4 decision to TCU's sixth-ranked duo of Sydorska and Ana Cetnik.

Surkova's three singles victories extended her straight-set win streak to eight matches. She has surrendered just 18 games in her last 14 sets, all at No. 1 singles and sports a 17-5 mark in singles competition with a 16-4 record in doubles play.

Ferris remains undefeated in singles play at 18-0 following victories over two nationally-ranked opponents as Utah fell to No. 32 TCU (5-2) and No. 69 New Mexico (6-1).

An unranked junior from Anaheim, Calif., Ferris staged back-to-back upsets at the No. 1 singles position, defeating Sydorska (6-1, 6-3) and Abou-Zekry (6-4, 6-7 (6), 10-8). She also teamed with sophomore Leigh Walsh to post a 1-1 mark at the No. 1 doubles slot, falling to TCU's Sydorska and Nina Munich-Soegaard before taking an 8-6 decision against New Mexico's Zmak and Scott.
