UNLV senior Thomas Schneiter has been named Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season. Schneiter, the 85th-ranked player in the nation, brought home three individual wins and one doubles victory last week, helping No. 54 UNLV to two victories over top-75 conference foes. In the Rebels victory over No. 74 Air Force, Schneiter outdualed Eric Pittman (6-3, 6-4) at the No. 1 position and teamed with Andreas Maurer to beat Pittman and Tyler McClung at No. 2 doubles, 8-6. Against New Mexico, he beat No. 116 Divan Coetzee in straight sets (7-5, 6-0) at No. 1 singles. The Worb, Switzerland, product ended the week outpointing San Diego State's Felix Hardt (3-6, 7-6, 6-0) at the No. 1 position, en route to the Rebels upset the 30th-ranked Aztecs, 6-1. Schneiter improved his dual match record to 12-3 this season and has won 12 of his last 13 matches.
