COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force's Brett Rodgers and BYU's Anastasia Surkova have been named the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of March 13-18. This marks the second career honor for Rodgers and the sixth for Surkova.

Rodgers, a sophomore from Midland, Texas, went a combined 6-0 at the No. 1 singles and doubles positions as the Falcons won two of three matches at home. Rodgers swept Montana's Colin Dektar (6-0, 6-2) in the Falcons' 4-3 loss to the Grizzlies, then rallied for three-set wins over Northern Colorado's Vinnie Fallico (6-7, 6-1, 6-4) and Dayton's James O'Connell (4-6, 6-0, 6-2) to lead Air Force to victory in both matches. In doubles play, Rodgers teamed with Taylor Soster to rack up a trio of victories over Montana's Dektar and Alexandre Gorj (8-2), UNC's Fallico and Paul Tschetter (8-6) and Dayton's O'Connell and David Peyton (8-3).

Surkova, a senior from Moscow, Russia, posted a pair of upsets over nationally-ranked opponents as No. 52 BYU stunned No. 33 South Carolina by a 5-1 margin. At the No. 1 slot, Surkova and teammate Jennifer Miccoli clinched the doubles point with an 8-4 victory over the No. 19 duo of Gira Schofield and Ana Zubori. Surkova then went on to collect a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over the 23rd-ranked Schofield at the No. 1 position in singles play.
