UNLV's Erez Named MWC Men's Tennis Player of the Week Senior garners honor for first time this season.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV senior Danny Erez was selected Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week. The Tel Aviv, Israel native earns MWC Men's Player of the Week honors for the first time this season and the second time in his career. Erez went 3-0 this past weekend at the Blue-Gray Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala., March 15-16. The No. 55 Rebels downed No. 65 William & Mary, 4-0, and upset No. 41 Harvard, 4-3. Erez contributed to the Rebels victories by sweeping William & Mary's Chris Erikson in the No. 3 position 6-2, 6-2. In sweeping Harvard's George Turner 6-1, 6-4, the senior earned his 50th career victory at UNLV against 33 defeats and puts him at 9-5 in singles matches on the year. In doubles play, Erez teamed with Thomas Schneiter in the No. 3 position for 8-5 victory over Harvard's No. 2 team, which was the deciding match in the 4-3 upset.
Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis teams were off this week, so no Women's Tennis Player of the Week was selected.
