COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU's James Ludlow and TCU's Nina Munch-Soegaard have been selected the Mountain West Conference men's and women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.

Ludlow went 1-1 as the Cougars posted a 5-2 win over No. 60 Denver last week. Slated to play at No. 2 singles, the senior instead took the court in the No. 1 slot against No. 19 Adam Holmstrom. After dropping the first set, 4-6, Ludlow rallied to win the next two, 6-4, 7-5, to claim the victory. Holmstrom is the highest-ranked player that Ludlow has defeated in his career.

In doubles action, Ludlow was nearly part of a second upset as the Salt Lake City, Utah, native and doubles partner Dominik Kaufhold dropped a narrow 7-5 decision to the No. 40 duo of Holstrom and Niklas Persson.

Munch-Soegaard went 3-1 overall last week as the Horned Frogs faced No. 27 Texas A&M and No. 63 Mississippi. The TCU freshman, ranked No. 60 in singles play, was one of only two Frogs to record a singles win against Texas A&M, upsetting No. 36 Elze Potgieter in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 2 slot.

The Amarillo, Texas, native teamed up with junior Kewa Nichols in doubles action to defeat Mississippi's duo of Nika Koukhartchouk and Soledad Podlipnik to win the doubles point for TCU. With the Frogs only needing one point heading into singles play due to injuries to Mississippi, Munch-Soegaard made quick work of Kseniia Tokarieva 6-1, 6-2 to clinch the match for TCU.

Munch-Soegaard has won six of the first seven singles matches of her collegiate career, including a 3-0 record against nationally-ranked opponents. Munch-Soegaard also has a 6-1 record when teaming up with Nichols in the No. 2 slot.
