COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State senior Oliver Maiberger has been named Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week. This is his second weekly honor in a row and the tenth of his career.

Maiberger, a Lorsch, Germany, product, posted a 2-1 record at No. 1 singles and teamed with Ryan Redondo (No. 6 tandem in the nation) to go 2-1 in doubles competition for the Aztecs last week. In singles action, the No. 32 player in the nation defeated No. 19 Jean Simon of Texas in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) and was victorious over Nathan Price of Arkansas, 6-3, 6-1. In doubles action, Maiberger and Redondo beat No. 21 Simon and Jose Zarhi from Texas, 8-4, and also notched a win over Arkansas's Price and Eduardo Pacheco, 8-1. On the season, he is 15-6 (6-2 dual) in singles play and, with Redondo, is 15-8 (5-3 dual) in doubles competition.
