COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force sophomore Shannon Buck and BYU sophomore Sofia Holden are the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.

Buck, from San Antonio, Texas, went undefeated in three singles and three doubles matches last week as the Falcons posted a 2-1 team record. Ranked No. 35 in the country and competing at the No. 1 spot for Air Force, Buck opened the weekend with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Christian Gerloff of Point Loma Nazarene, followed by a 6-2, 6-4 win over Marc Contreras (UC Riverside) and a 7-6, 6-2 victory over UC Irvine's Jon Endrikat. Buck teamed with Tyler McClung to post a 3-0 mark in doubles play.

Holden, from Mexico City, Mexico, posted a pair of come-from-behind victories over Kansas and Denver at the No. 2 singles position. Holden opened with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Kansas' Emily Haylock, and went on to notch a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win over Denver's Suzana Maksovic, who was ranked 60th. Holden was down 4-0 early to Maksovic, but rallied to take the set and eventually won the match despite dropping the second set. Holden also helped the Cougars to a 2-0 mark at No. 2 doubles.
