COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Henner Nehles of UNLV and Colorado State's Dasha Zhurin have been selected the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.

Nehles, a senior from Dulsburg, Germany, plays No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Rebels. He is currently ranked No. 38 in the nation in singles. Nehles helped UNLV win three matches last week to win the UNLV Spring Invitational for the first time in three years. The Rebels, which just got their first ranking of the year yesterday at No. 72, defeated Utah State, San Francisco and No. 72 Denver. In singles, Nehles defeated Joao Pinho from Utah State, 6-1, 6-1, Timo Kienle of San Francisco, 7-5, 6-1, and Adam Holmstrom of Denver, 6-2, 6-3. He also teamed with Aviram Salomon to win their doubles match over Denver in the championship, 9-8.

Zhurin, a senior from Fort Collins, Colo., plays No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for Colorado State. She helped the Rams to a 5-2 victory over New Mexico State last week. Zhurin won at No. 1 singles, defeating Isabelle Mignot, ranked No. 21 in the Central region, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, before winning at No. 1 doubles with partner Emily Kirchem, 8-4.
