COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. UNLV sophomore Henner Nehles has been named Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time in his career.

Nehles, a Duisburg, Germany, native, posted a 2-0 record at No. 1 singles and teamed with Joel Kielbowicz to go 1-1 in doubles competition for the Rebels last weekend against No. 26 Tulane and No. 75 New Orleans. Against Tulane, he rallied after losing the first set to top eighth-ranked Michael Kogan (4-6, 6-4, 1-0 [10-8]), marking the highest ranked opponent a Rebel has defeated in two years. Nehles and Kielbowicz also notched an 8-2 win over the Green Wave tandem of Dmitriy Koch and Goran Vasiljevic. The next day against New Orleans, he defeated Luka Bernard (6-4, 6-7, 1-0 [10-8]). Nehles has a 6-2 overall record (2-0 dual) on the season in singles play and a combined doubles record of 5-3 (1-1 dual).
