San Diego State's Benedikt Stronk and UNLV's Elena Gantcheva have been named the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.

A senior from Berlin, Germany, Stronk posted singles and doubles wins last week vs. No. 20 USC. He posted a comeback win over Dejan Cvetkovic, 1-6, 7-6, 6-3, at No. 1 singles and teamed with Markus Dickhardt at No. 1 doubles to defeat Jamil Al-Agba and Dejan Cvetkovic, 9-7. Stronk is unbeaten this season in No. 1 singles (2-0) and No. 1 doubles (2-0) play.

A sophomore from Sofia, Bulgaria, Gantcheva posted a 3-0 mark at No. 1 singles and a 3-0 mark at No. 1 doubles last week, helping the Rebels to three straight shutouts. Gantcheva, ranked No. 8 in the nation in singles, defeated Nevada's Caroline Bailley (6-2, 6-4), New Mexico State's Isabelle Mignot (6-2, 6-4) and Weber State's Elana Smit (6-0, 6-1). In doubles, Gantcheva teamed with Nikol Dimitrova to defeat Nevada (8-2), New Mexico State (8-5) and Weber State (8-2). With her singles wins last week, Gantcheva reached 50 career victories faster than anyone in school history (63 matches).
