COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State's Benedikt Stronk and Colorado State's Emily Kirchem have been selected the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.

Stronk plays No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles for the No. 71-ranked Aztecs. He upset No. 97 Johan Berg, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, of No. 8 Southern California, Jan. 22, in a 5-2 USC victory. He also teamed with Chris Groh to win at No. 2 doubles, 7-6 (6), the lone doubles team to beat USC.

Kirchem plays No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles for Colorado State. She won both her singles matches last week, including the Rams' lone point against No. 71 Nebraska in a 6-1 loss, defeating Imke Reimers, 6-4, 6-2. She also won at No. 2 singles against Creighton, 6-2, 6-0, and teamed with Dasha Zhurin to win at No. 1 doubles, 9-7, as Colorado State won the dual match, 6-1.
