WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of Utah men's tennis team sent the doubles paring of senior Phillip Eilers and freshman Alex Golding to the ITA National Indoor Doubles Championships hosted by Yale University. The event took place in West Haven, Conn. at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

During the round of 16 Eilers and Golding faced the doubles team of Davey Sandgren and J.P. Smith of the University of Tennessee. The Ute duo fell to the No. 1 seeded Sandgren and Smith, 8-3.

The pair received automatic berth in the elite 16-team national championship event after winning the doubles title at the Wilson/ITA Mountain Region Championships. Eilers and Golding became the first Utah doubles team to quality for National Indoors in over 20 years.
