Men's Tennis Fall in MWC Tourney Rebels defeat Utes 4-0 in the quarterfinals

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - The University of Utah men's tennis team had a tough loss in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference Tournament on Thursday. The Rebels defeated the Utes 4-0 to advance into the semifinals. The Utes started the day out on a rough note. Zach Ganger and Miron Mann were defeated 8-5 by Elliot Wronski and Brett Hunter at the No. 1 slot. The last match completed was at the No. 2 slot. The doubles point was determined by UNLV's Burrows and Hooper as they defeated Othman Zerouali-Ouariti and Jason Smits 8-2. First to finish in singles play was Smits at the No. 4 slot. The Ute faced Brett Hunter from the Rebels for a 6-3, 6-3 loss. At the top spot, Elliot Wronski defeated Utah's Ganger 6-3, 6-4. The last match to be completed was at the No. 3 slot. Wes Hancock and Wesley Burrows went face-to-face for a 6-2, 7-6(3) win in the Rebel's favor. The match ended in a 4-0 victory in UNLV's favor.
