TCU Men Advance To Title Match Of MWC Tennis Championships
Horned Frogs down Cougars, 4-0, in semifinals

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -
No. 2 seed TCU moved past No. 3 seed BYU, 4-0, to advance to the title match of the Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Championship at Barnes Tennis Center. The Horned Frogs took singles matches at the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 positions along with the doubles point.
TCU's Andrei Mlendea defeated BYU's James Ludlow at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-2), while Jordan Freitas (TCU) downed Jonathan Sanchez (BYU) at No. 6 singles (6-3, 6-3). The Horned Frogs' Jacopo Tezza upended BYU's Ivan Kokurin (6-2, 6-1) to bring his record to 20-3 in dual match singles competition this season. The TCU tandem of Radu Barbu and Cosmin Cotet improved to 11-1 in doubles play this season after a victory at No. 3 doubles over the Cougars' Christian Hand and Sanchez (8-2).
TCU will face the winner of No. 1 seed San Diego State and No. 4 seed Utah in the finals Saturday at 10 a.m. The Horned Frogs fell to the Aztecs, 3-4, in the regular season and defeated the Utes, 6-1.
