BYU Advances To Semifinals Of MWC Men's Tennis Championships
Cougars hold off Lobos, 4-2, in quarterfinals

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -
No. 3 seed BYU picked up the doubles point to start the match and added three singles points to earn the victory over the sixth-seeded Lobos and advance to the Mountain West Conference Championship semifinals. BYU will face No. 2 seed TCU at noon Friday at Barnes Tennis Center.
BYU's James Ludlow and Dominik Kaufhold edged New Mexico's Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski to earn a critical doubles win at the No. 1 position (9-8 [4]). The Cougar duo is now 3-0 this year at No. 1 doubles. Nima Roshan and Jose Lechuga secured the BYU doubles point with a win over New Mexico's Johnny Parkes and Miles Bugby at No. 2 doubles (8-5), while also improving to 3-0 on the year.
Jones took No. 1 singles over Ludlow (6-1, 6-4) and Pajkowski picked up No. 4 singles over Ivan Kokurin (6-3, 6-1) for New Mexico, but the Cougars answered with singles victories at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 to secure the win. Lechuga notched his 20th singles win of the year after defeating Eric Conklin of New Mexico at the No. 5 position (6-2, 6-1).
