Men's tennis falls in semifinals to UNLV, 4-0 Duo of Brink and Cotet record TCU's only win

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The No. 68 TCU men's tennis team fell 4-0 in the semifinals of the Mountain West Conference Championship on Friday to UNLV at the AFA Outdoor Tennis Facility. The loss dropped the Horned Frogs to 10-12 overall and 6-2 in the MWC, while improving the Rebels to 12-13 overall and 5-3 in conference play. "Losing the doubles point really hurt us today," said TCU head coach Dave Borelli. "Overall, it was a great year for us."
After a TCU loss at the No. 2 doubles position, the No. 43 duo of Kriegler Brink and Cosmin Cotet ousted Elliot Wronski and Brett Hunter, 8-5, to move to 16-4 overall at the No. 1 spot this season.
With the doubles point on the line, the TCU duo of Caleb Bulls and Andrew Ulrich fell just short to UNLV's Slavko Bijelica and David Campbell, 9-8(2).
In singles play, Ulrich fell to Campbell at the No. 5 position, 6-3, 6-3, while Stuart Row fell short against Luca Barlocchi 6-4, 6-2, to put the Rebels up 3-0.
Wesley Burrows would clinch the match for UNLV with a 7-6(5), 6-3 victory over Radu Barbu at the No. 3 slot.
