San Diego State Wins Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Championship Aztecs Beat New Mexico, 4-0.

PROVO, Utah - The No. 30 and top-seeded Aztecs of San Diego State won the Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Championship on Saturday in Provo by blanking New Mexico, 4-0 in the finals. The win gives the Aztecs an overall record of 16-9 and a conference record of 7-1. The Aztecs took control of the match early by winning two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. The third-ranked doubles team of Oliver Maiberger and Ryan Redondo won at the No. 1 spot by beating the 28th-ranked doubles team of Brent Salazar and Ryan Stotland, 8-5. The other doubles victory for the SDSU came at the No. 2 position. Daniel Jung and Armando Carrascosa beat Bart Scott and Jasmin Hodzic 8-6. In singles, SDSU stepped things up a notch and came out ready for the Lobos. The Aztecs won three of the six matches to beat New Mexico and win the MWC Championship. Felix Hardt beat Salazar 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 while Jung defeated David Kowalski 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot. Gabe Coren concluded the sweep for the Aztecs by beating Hodzic 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 6 position. San Diego State - 4, New Mexico - 0
