Utah Beats UNLV to Claim Fifth Place Utes claim doubles point; wins at number four-six singles.

PROVO, Utah - The University of Utah defeated UNLV on Friday to claim fifth place in the Mountain West Conference men's tennis championships. The Utes jumped out to an early lead by taking a 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point. Utah's Tyler Poulson and Tomas Gryzyb beat Aviram Salomon and Joel Kielbowicz 8-2 at No. 2 doubles while Daniel Lohff and Mike Bullard blanked Milos Blagojevic and Ryan Barber 8-0 at No. 3. In singles, the Rebels of UNLV fought back and won at the top two singles positions. But Utah played tough at the last two spots and won to take a 3-2 lead. The match came down to the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, but Gryzyb was able to hold on to claim the victory over Kielbowicz 6-4, 7-6 at No. 3. With the victory, the Utes finish the season in fifth place in the MWC. Utah - 4, UNLV - 2
