COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month Colorado State senior Nolan Martin was named Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for October/November after completing one of the most successful fall seasons in school history. Martin participated in four tournaments and finished in the top seven in each event. He captured one individual title at the Fresno Lexus Classic and led Colorado State to a pair of team championships. His October began with a one-over 217 (71-73-73) en route to a tie for third-place at the Club Glove Intercollegiate in Somis, Calif. The next week, Martin won the individual title at the Fresno Lexus Classic with a 12-under 204 (68-68-68). At the Barona Cup in San Diego, Calif., the third week of October, he tied for seventh and extended his rounds under par streak to six after shooting a 69-70-69 over three rounds for an eight-under 208. The Rams also won the team championship at both the Fresno Lexus and Barona Cup Tournaments. Martin concluded the month with a career-low and school record 54-hole total of 13-under 203 (67-71-65) at The Nelson in Palo Alto, Calif. His third round 65 was also a career-low and made him just the second Ram all-time to shoot a single round 65 (Martin Laird). Martin placed third out of 80 competitors at The Nelson and extended his rounds under par streak to nine in a row.
Martin is currently tied with teammate Martin Laird atop the MWC's Leader Board with a 69.9 stroke average.
