FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State's men's golf coach Jamie Bermel today announced the signing of local star Chase Watkins to a national letter of intent.

Fort Collins High School senior Watkins shot a low round of 69 this season at the Longmont/Skyline Invitational and should bhave an immediate impact on Bermel's team.

"Chase is a very good golfer and talented athlete," Bermel stated. "He has a very solid junior record and I feel he has the ability to come in and play for us next year. We are very fortunate to have signed a player of his ability."

Bermel and the Rams have had eight straight appearances in the postseason and are aiming for a ninth this spring.
