COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV sophomore Ryan Moore was named Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for October after leading the Rebels to two top-five finishes, including the team title at the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate that featured 11 of the country's top-50 teams according to Golfweek's November 10th rankings. Moore tied for second at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala., after rain cancelled the final round. He fired a six-under 136 (66-70) through the first two rounds and was positioned just one stroke behind the leader. Moore was one of just five players to card a tournament-best round of five-under 66. Moore completed the month by leading the Rebels to the team title at the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate in Kahuku, Hawaii. He shot a one-under 215 (71-70-74) and finish tied for fourth. His final round 74 marked the first time in six rounds he had carded an over par score. The Rebel sophomore is currently ranked 12th nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index and first in the MWC with a 70.6 stroke average. Moore has also earned an invitation to play in this year's Western Refining College All-American Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas, Nov. 25-26.
