COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU junior Todd Miller was named Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for September after leading the Cougars to a pair of top five team finishes to begin the season. BYU placed third out of 20 teams at the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., and tied for 4th out of 10 teams at the Husky Invitational in Seattle, Wash.
Miller, who returned to the Cougar lineup this year after serving a two-year mission, opened the season with two top 11 finishes and consistent play on the course. In his first tournament of the year he place 11th (out of 103 golfers) at the Tucker Invitational with a one-over 217 (71-74-72). The following week, Miller placed fourth out of 60 golfers at the Husky Invitational with a one-over 217 (73-72-72). Through six rounds of play, Miller currently eighth on the MWC's Leader Board with a 72.3 stroke average.
