Sept. 28, 2005 Reno, Nev. - The Air Force golf team wrapped up competition Wednesday at Nevada's Wolf Pack Invitational, finishing 17th with a three-round score of 895 in the event held at the Par 72, 6,937-yard ArrowCreek Golf Course. The host Wolf Pack captured the team title, coming in at 12 strokes under-par (852), while Arkansas' Matt Bortis claimed medalist honors after firing a 10-under-par 206. Pacing the Falcons in the tournament was junior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.), who struggled somewhat on day two to finish tied for 29th at 218 (+2). Sophomore Tyler Labrum (Roosevelt, Utah), whose second-round score of 67 was the lowest of the season for an Air Force golfer, ended the tournament at 227, followed closely by freshman Andrew Gibson (San Ramon, Calif.) and senior Scott Redmond (Columbus, Ga.) at 228 and 229, respectively. Rounding out the group of Falcon golfers was freshman Chase Wirtz (Westlake Village, Calif.), who ended the tournament with a total of 238. Air Force has nearly a month before its next tournament, the Service Academy Golf Classic, where the Falcons will seek their 11th-consecutive title. In the meantime, Air Force will take part in a charity match-play event hosted by Northern Colorado on Oct. 9. Final Results
