Utah's Pimm Qualifies for U.S. Amateur

Ute sophomore will play in Pennsylvania in August.

SALT LAKE CITY -- University of Utah golfer Dustin Pimm has qualified to take part in the U.S. Amateur. Pimm qualified for the prestigious tournament by finishing second in a sectional qualifying tournament in Park City recently.

Pimm shot seven-under (67-70) for his two rounds at the Meadows Country Club in Park City. He was tied with Eric Nilsson of Southern Utah after 36 holes. But Pimm recorded a birdie on the second playoff hole to earn the invitation to the U.S. Amateur.

The U.S. Amateur is Aug. 22-28 at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa.
