Golfers Earn Classroom Honor
Seven Rebels land on Academic All-MWC team.
July 21, 2003 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Four men's golfers and three women's golfers from UNLV were named to their respective Academic All-Mountain West Conference teams, the league announced Monday. Earning the honor on the men's side were JC Deacon, Ryan Keeney, Ryan Moore and Travis Whisman. Erin Borcherts, Christine Hentzner and Elena Kurokawa represented the Lady Rebels.
To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic
term at the school while maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 or better and have been
a starter of significant contributor to the team. For Deacon, Moore, Borcherts and Hentzner, the award is the second of their careers.
