Weston Wins Match Play Championship
CSU Pair In Final Two
July 17, 2006 Colorado State senior Aaron Weston won the Colorado Golf Association's Match Play Championship with a 2 and 1 victory Friday against Ram teammate Zen Brown at the Plum Creek Golf and Country Club in Castle Rock. Brown beat Klinton Krieger 7 and 6 in their semifinal match to earn a berth in the final, while Weston defeated the University of Colorado's Ryan Anderson 3 and 2 in the other semifinal. Brown set the CSU single-round record with a 63 at the Ping Cougar Classic as a freshman in April and finished in a tie for 20th at the Mountain West Conference Tournament, while Weston closed out the conference season in a tie for 30th.
